Alex is thrilled to announce that he's been elected to the American Academy of Microbiology, a leadership group within ASM, which has just elected 65 new fellows into its ranks as part of the Class of 2023!

Elections to the Academy are a peer-review process that evaluate an individual's scientific record and contributions to the field of microbiology. Alex will now join over 2,600 Academy members that represent all sub-disciplines of microbiology, from basic to applied research, across the globe.

Says Alex via Twitter, "I am greatly honored to have become elected Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology. I thank all the past and present trainees who I had/ve the privilege to work with and my mentors for their support."
