Say hello to Dr. Michael Schwoerer! Michael successfully defended his doctoral thesis, "Barriers to Hepatitis C Infection in Mice," at his final public oral defense on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with Alex as his doctoral mentor. His work focused on genetic approaches to break the species barrier and create a mouse HCV infection model.

Michael has put in tremendous effort to earn his PhD in Molecular Biology, marking another impressive milestone in his career. We are all extremely proud of him and excited to see him reach this important achievement. We wish him every success in his future endeavors!
