On July 6th, we held a farewell celebration for three amazing Plossians – Florian Douam, Elham Shirvani-Dastgerdi, and Benjamin Winer. It was an evening full of joy, gift-giving, and sentimental reflection on their time in the lab. All three will be moving onto exciting new positions:
- Florian: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Boston University, MA
- Elham: Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, PA
- Ben: Post-doc at UCSF (CA) in the Cyster and Weiner labs
To paraphrase the wise Winnie-the-Pooh, “How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard!” Thank you to Florian, Elham, and Ben for being such beloved members of the Ploss family, and we are excited to see all the wonderful things you do!
