A summery-warm welcome to Pelumi Kolawole, a visiting student from Howard University who will be working in the Ploss Lab this summer through the SURP program! Pelumi is originally from Kaduna, Nigeria, and previously worked in the PHAGES laboratory studying a bacteriophage specific to Mycobacterium smegmatis. This summer, she hopes to “be productive, learn new things, and explore [her] interests in infectious diseases.” We’re excited to have you in the Ploss lab, Pelumi!
